Sponsor one of the "gang" on a month to month basis beginning in October 2010.
Just as the economy is suffering - so are the horses. Many horse owners find themselves putting their horses up for sale, giving them away, leaving them on the side of the road or sending them to auction as a last result. Most of our horses have come from sad situations and were taken in to be rehabilitated and given a good home. This Fall Season we will be offering sponsorships to help the horses make it through the winter. This is also a great opportunity for horse lovers to learn a little about horses, how to take care of them, reacquaint yourself or just get to know these majestic animals. No riding is involved.
"Sadistic Judy" is a 26 year old Quarter Horse and has a swayed back. She is the most wonderful horse in our riding program. She is cued by words alone. At this point in her life no one would purchase OR adopt her because of her sway BUT we love her and use her alot. Give Judy a chance to live out her life at RRR - Sponser her today.
"Jazz's Emma" is one big lady. Now standing at 17.1 hands and 1500 pounds - Emma can only be sponsored with no grooming OR by a sponsor that has been around horses before. Emma is a Belgian Draft horse and right now is a dying breed do to non-use in the industry.
"Ebony's Bravo" came to RRR from an area facility because they needed to downsize. Had RRR not purchased him he might had wound up at the auction. He is part Hackney Pony and wonderful to watch trot with his high gait. He has fit right into our program and gives many little cowpokes their first ride. Sponser Bravo and help him continue to introduce little ones to riding.
"Cherokee" came from a riding stable near Stroudsburg and has been with us for 8 years. He was tied to a wall for most of the day - had a ill-fitting saddle and bit on which caused many sores. His feet were terrible - split and dry. He was underweight and very unhappy. It took several years to get him to trust humans again. He is one beautiful horse. Why not help Cherokee by Sponsoring him for a month or two.
"Patches' is one sweet pony mare. She was given to us due to downsizing. She has been wonderful in teaching beginner jumping.
WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Each sponsor will receive a picture of their horse, bio and a place to keep track of their milestones, etc. You will be able to come once a week (if you choose) to groom and love your horse on scheduled days for one hour. Sponsorship can be by the month or season. Sponsors must be over the age of 7.
Sponsorship is only $100 per month. This will help feed hay and grain to your sponsored horse. All other costs will be paid for by the ranch.
Buy a Sponsorship as a gift, give it to your employee of the month, OR sponsor for your business. School age children can Sponsor a Horse for their class. There are endless possibilities!
Still have questions? Please contact us anytime! We look forward to hearing from you.
"Big Red" came to RRR from a million dollar barn. He was left in a stall for 2 years, fed barely enough to survive with manure more than a foot high. He had a severe sinus infection and retained fluid in his body due to no exercise and standing in a stall. He was about 500 pounds underweight. Since coming to RRR he has put on over 450 pounds and is now used in our riding program. He is really sweet. After researching his tatoo - we think his official name is Savage Mountain and he raced at Penn National. Why Not Sponser Red so he can live his life out at RRR.
"Sunny Girl" is now 27 years old and has been at RRR for over 5 years. She came to us with over 30 infected tick bites. The kids adore her and she is sooooo sweet. Sunny has taught many children and adults to ride in the past 4 years. She is also a great horse on the trail. Help us keep Sunny at RRR so that she can continue to put a smile on her rider's faces.
"Zanzibar of Rock Ridge - Zane" for short. I rescued Zane for $500 from an equestrian facility in N.J. I bought him site unseen. When he came off the trailer it was apparent that he had rain rot and we found that his teeth were so bad that his mouth was bleeding. This stocky pony had no patience with people and we had to teach him to love again. He is now my main ride - bomb-proof and a wonderful companion.
